Went up high location scouting today with a guided tour from a local historian Mike Tanner and his dog Rosie.  It was so great to hear about the histories of the changing landscapes from someone born in the area, this is key to my research and will feed into the final works.

Above are a few snaps from today’s scout.  These images are by no means the final work… I often use a digital slr as a sketchbook in the early stages of a project if I’m exploring an area.  There’s absolutely no way I could have got to these locations without a car.  It’s sad to think locals who can’t afford the luxury of a car can’t access this easily.  Thanks so much to Mike for taking his time to take a poor artist round.

I’m itching to go back up and keep scouting….and also sit for hours watching the light change.
